Major upgrade under conditions of a live refinery to one of the oldest refineries in the region.
This prominent project was distinguished in that it had to be completed under conditions of a live refinery, which required absolute levels of safety, quality control and progress under very ominous and adverse conditions. Sub-soil strata were full of live pipes, cables, utilities etc. and likewise above ground.
SOMAC’s work on this prominent project consisted of the procurement and construction of civil and building works including, among others, the construction of Process Interface Buildings, electrical substations, pumps, manholes, valve boxes, neutralization tanks, high lift pump house, travelling screen, cofferdam, equipment and pipe rack foundations, pile caps, pipe sleepers, structural steel, site paving and bridges with supply of related steel, electrical, instrumentation and sanitary systems.
